Who We Are
Kimberly Brown founded Voila, Baby! in 2006, shortly after the birth of her first child. She is an accomplished newspaper and radio journalist who previously worked in meeting and event planning, marketing, and communications.
Though she was no stranger to research, Kimberly was daunted by the sheer volume of information available to expecting parents. Working at a new full-time job, she realized that her pregnancy was equally demanding of her time and concentration -- and often joked about hiring a personal assistant to help her get to the point where she could feel as ready as possible to become a parent. But a particular expertise would be required of such a person -- and no such specialist existed.
And why not? We hire experts to help us stay fit, to organize our closets and garages, to manage our finances and investments, and to plan and oversee our most important events. Yet getting ready for baby too often feels like a frustrating and lonely trek -- without a compass, but on a deadline: so much to learn, so many decisions, so much anxiety about those decisions, and so little time.
So, soon after her daughter Natasha arrived, Kimberly conceived of a way to combine her skills at research and reporting, event planning, and communications; her talent for problem solving; and her penchant for steering people to the people and services that could help them. Thus Voila, Baby! was born to help make the journey to parenting easier and more fun.
Voila, Baby! is your complete baby-preparation service. (And if you let us, we’ll guide you through baby’s first year, too.)
